I finally made it to training on time!!! Luis gave me a wake up call at 5 a.m. and remained on the phone with me for about 15 minutes, making sure that I was up and about… My new co-worker and friend, Michelle (she just moved down from Sheboygan….that’s so much fun to say!), came to training with me this morning. She had no choice but to…I invited her to volunteer at a beach clean-up in Broward right after training.

Today we ran from our meeting point, Hobie Beach, up to the Seaquarium, back down, over Rickenbacker Causeway (yes, that colossal bridge!), out until the toll booths, back up over the bridge again and ending at Hobie Beach for a grand total of 5 miles…the longest I’ve ever run at any one time!!! We began running in intervals, five minutes running and two minutes walking, etc. I found it easier to continue running than having to interrupt my momentum and start it back up again, so I continued on my own. I’d rather run by myself actually…the introvert in me I guess.

Well, I am pleased to announce that my shins are about 75% recovered!!! I was in no pain, some discomfort, but no pain at all after the run! The marathon is beginning to look feasible…I had my doubts.
